Buttonhole Binding
This one day workshop teaches the buttonhole binding. This binding is very attractive with an open spine, which invites to experiment with papers and colors. We start with a short introduction about bookbinding and book art. We then go on to make one to two sample books with soft covers and than bind a larger book with the buttonhole binding. Participants will discover foundations in bookbinding and book arts. We also explore a diversity of materials and the use of tools of classical bookbinding.

This makes them perfect for displays and exhibits. They are also the starting point for many different bindings, like the flag book or the star book , just to name a view.
