The University of the Arts 2010 MFA Book Arts/Printmaking Thesis Exhibitions will be held at The University of the Arts' Rosenwald-Wolf Gallery in two installments. Opening receptions will be in the gallery from 5:30-8:30 PM on Friday, May 7th for Chapter II.

From traditional to innovative concepts and structures, the exhibitions are the culmination of the artists' work in the two-year MFA program. Traditional, alternative, and experimental bookbinding, printmaking, video, multi-media installations, mixed media, and sculpture form the exhibitions. Within each body of work, the artist challenges the idea of a book and explores narrative concepts.

Exhibiting artists in Chapter II are Amber Chiozza, Donna Globus, Lara Henderson, Jessica Hoffman, and Asa Yoshie.

The University of the Arts' graduate program in Book Arts/Printmaking offers a course of study in which students explore the book as an art form that incorporates two-dimensional as well as three-dimensional structures. It embraces both the rich history of the book and the new processes and forms created by digital technology. Its concept of book arts includes fine-press printing and illustrated texts, visual and verbal narratives, and works that push the idea of a book beyond conventional expectations.
